Welcome to Nipika Mountain Resort

Welcome to Nipika Mountain Resort—a four-season adventure destination! We are a pet-friendly, eco resort in the Canadian Rockies, bordering Kootenay National Park and we’re located 30 minutes from Radium Hot Springs.

 

There are nine classic log cabins that sleep 4-13 people. Adventure awaits with a massive trail network, the Cross River Canyon Recreation Site. It is geared for mountain biking, hiking, and trail running in the warmer months and groomed for cross country skiing, fat biking, and snowshoeing in winter.

    We received a few centimetres of snow last night! We still don’t have enough to pack the trails, but every bit helps. We’ll update again with an estimated opening once we get more snow! Please note the Day Lodge is closed until the trails open.

Trails

Nipika is surrounded by a magnificent trail network set along the Kootenay and Cross River valleys with stunning mountain, river, and forest views. The trails are built and maintained for cross country skiing, fat biking, and snowshoeing in the winter and mountain biking, hiking, and trail running in the summer.

Guided Activities

Nipika is a year-round adventure destination, and we love helping guests get out there. Our guided activities include cross country ski lessons in the winter and alpine day hikes, half day hikes, and mountain bike lessons in the summer.

Nipika operates in harmony with nature and is completely off the grid, sourcing power from the sun and surrounding forest. Our philosophy is to help guests enjoy Canada’s Rockies in non-consumptive ways using self-propelled activities.

WHAT WE HEAR

  • Have never stayed the night but visited many times. The owners are so nice and welcoming. We use the trails around the property. The MTB trails are lots of fun and follow the Kootenay River. Beautiful views! They also have an awesome frisbee golf course!

  • The staff were super friendly and very accommodating! We came to Nordic ski and the staff were generous with their equipment, the trails were well kept and the staff were knowledgeable on the conditions of the trails and gave excellent advice on where to ski and where not to.   • Fantastic property, the area is so peaceful and secluded with beautiful views. The purpose of my stay was to play the Disc Golf course on the property and I am very happy I made the trip out. Great cozy cabins facing the amazing views, perfect to relax at after a long day of hiking.
